Freeport, Texas Tide Chart
Freeport — where the Brazos River meets the Gulf — fishes a small diurnal tide, about a foot and a half, between the river’s delta marshes and the open Gulf surf.

The pattern
One high and one low daily with around a foot and a half of range — the classic Texas diurnal pattern. The Brazos’ flow and the wind move as much water as the tide on many days.
River and surf
Redfish and speckled trout work the delta marshes and the jetties; the surf gives up reds, trout, and sharks in the guts. Offshore, the nearshore reefs and rigs hold snapper and kingfish.
Boating
The Freeport jetties and the ship channel mean minding big-ship traffic. The Intracoastal runs behind the beaches. For the wider Gulf, see our Gulf Coast tide guide.
