Port Arthur Tide Chart

Port Arthur anchors the Texas-Louisiana border at Sabine Lake — a small diurnal tide, barely a foot or two, that still sets the table for some of the Gulf’s best redfish and speckled trout water.

The pattern

One high and one low daily with a foot or two of range — modest even by Gulf standards. But Sabine Lake’s shallow flats amplify what the tide does move: a few inches of rise floods acres of marsh, and the drains concentrate everything on the fall.

Sabine Lake

This is redfish and speckled trout country — the lake’s reefs, bayous, and the ship channel edges all fish the moving water. Flounder run the passes in fall. The Texas and Louisiana sides have different regulations, so know which side of the line you’re on.

Boating

The Sabine-Neches Waterway carries big ship traffic — give it room and cross smartly. The lake itself is shallow: mind the reefs and run the marked cuts. For the state, see our Texas tide guide.
