Corpus Christi Tide Chart
Corpus Christi runs on the Gulf’s classic diurnal rhythm — one high and one low most days, barely a foot or two — and on the shallow Laguna Madre, the wind pushes water around as hard as the tide does.

The pattern
One high, one low, a foot or two of range — the standard northern Gulf pattern, simplest tide chart you will ever read. But do not ignore the wind: on the Laguna Madre’s vast shallows, a hard north wind can drain the flats far below the predicted low, and a southeast wind can stack water high. Read the tide table and the wind together.
Laguna Madre fishing
The Laguna Madre is one of the great speckled trout and redfish factories on the Gulf Coast, and the formula is moving water over grass — whether the tide or the wind is moving it. Work the spoil islands, the JFK Causeway lights at night, and the Packery Channel on the tide change.
Beaches and boating
Padre Island’s long beach is at its widest on the day’s low, and the surf fishing for pompano and whiting follows the same rhythm. Boaters crossing to the island should mind that the shallow bays go skinny fast when wind and falling tide team up. For the wider coast, see our Texas tide guide.
