Tampa Tide Chart
Tampa Bay marches to a Gulf Coast beat: often just one high tide and one low tide per day, with a small range that makes every inch of moving water count for anglers.

The pattern
The bay’s tide is diurnal to mixed — many days bring a single high and a single low, with a range of only two or three feet. That means long, slow moves of water rather than quick swings, and the bite windows stretch out accordingly. Around full and new moons the range stretches a bit wider.
Inshore fishing
Tampa Bay is an inshore grand slam factory — snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout — and the local rule is simple: moving water means feeding fish. The start of the incoming tide and the last of the outgoing are the premium windows. Work the mangrove edges, oyster bars, and passes as the water moves.
Boating the bay
It is a shallow bay, and low water exposes flats well outside the marked channels — stay in the channel unless you know the water. Strong summer storms can pile water in or push it out beyond what the tide table shows. For the wider Gulf, see our Gulf Coast tide guide.
