Fort Myers Tide Chart
Fort Myers fronts the Caloosahatchee River where it meets Southwest Florida’s island coast — a small mixed tide, around two feet, that floods the mangroves and sets the snook schedule.

The pattern
A mixed semidiurnal tide with one to two feet of range — modest, but the shallow bays and mangrove creeks amplify its effect: inches of rise flood acres of prime snook habitat. The passes to the Gulf run slightly bigger water than the river.
Snook and tarpon water
This is snook country — the mangrove shorelines, docks, and passes from the river to Sanibel and Captiva hold them year-round, with the moving tides setting the bite. Boca Grande’s tarpon fishery, the world’s most famous, is a short run north in season.
Boating the islands
The river, Matlacha Pass, and the Intracoastal thread the islands — mind the skinny water outside the marks at low tide. The Gulf passes run current on the change. For the wider Gulf, see our Gulf Coast tide guide.
