Clearwater Tide Chart
Clearwater’s famous white-sand beach answers to a small mixed Gulf tide — around two feet — that floods the back-bay flats and sets the redfish schedule.

The pattern
A mixed semidiurnal tide with one to two feet of range — modest, but the shallow grass flats behind the barrier island feel every inch. Clearwater Pass runs the area’s strongest tidal current.
Redfish and trout
The back bays — from Dunedin to Belleair — are redfish and speckled trout water fished on the moving tides, with the top of the incoming the premium window. Snook prowl the passes and dock lights in the warm months.
Boating
Clearwater Pass and Hurricane Pass both run current on the change — time crossings kindly. The Intracoastal behind the beaches is the skinny-water route; mind the flats at low tide. For the wider Gulf, see our Gulf Coast tide guide.
