Galveston Tide Chart
Galveston runs on the Gulf Coast’s signature diurnal tide — typically just one high and one low per day, with a small range that makes the daily water movement easy to read at a glance.

The pattern
One high, one low, roughly one to two feet of range on most days — the classic northern Gulf pattern. Around full and new moons the range stretches a bit. Because the whole day’s move happens in a single cycle, the tide chart here is wonderfully simple to read.
Bay and jetty fishing
Galveston Bay is speckled trout and redfish country, and the jetties concentrate baitfish on moving water. With only one tide change a day, the bite window is obvious: fish the move. Wade anglers should note that a falling tide drains the flats fast — do not get caught far from the channel.
Boating and the beach
The Houston Ship Channel and the Bolivar ferry route carry real current on the tide change — give the big ships room. Beachgoers get long, gentle days; the small range means the waterline barely moves. For the wider coast, see our Texas tide guide.
