Ocean City, Maryland Tide Chart
Ocean City’s life revolves around its inlet — a three-to-four-foot semidiurnal tide that times the white marlin fleet’s departures, the surf bite, and every crossing of one of the coast’s busiest inlets.

The pattern
Two highs and two lows daily with three to four feet of range at the inlet. The back bays — Sinepuxent, Isle of Wight, Assawoman — run a bit later and smaller than the ocean, so bay anglers should favor a bay station. Spring tides add extra push.
The inlet and offshore
Ocean City calls itself the White Marlin Capital of the World, and the offshore fleet runs the inlet daily in season — timing the crossing away from a hard ebb is seamanship 101. Inshore, the inlet’s jetties and the Route 50 bridge are flounder and striper structure fished on moving water.
Surf and bay
Assateague’s wild beach fishes the surf for red drum and stripers on the rising tide, while the back bays give up flounder and weakfish. Beachgoers get the widest sand on the falling tide toward low. For the region, see our Mid-Atlantic tide guide.
