Neah Bay Tide Chart
Neah Bay — the Makah port at Washington’s northwest tip, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific — fishes an eight-foot mixed tide at the edge of the ocean’s richest grounds.

The pattern
Two unequal highs and two unequal lows daily with around eight feet of range. The Strait’s massive tidal exchange funnels past the bay — the current at the entrance and around Tatoosh Island runs hard on the big tides.
Halibut capital
Neah Bay is Washington’s premier halibut port — barn doors on the offshore banks in season — plus kings, coho, lingcod, and rockfish. The ocean side demands full offshore respect: bar, weather, and tide all at once.
Boating
This is serious water where strait meets ocean: check the bar report, the marine forecast, and the tide before crossing. Inside the bay it’s a snug tribal fishing port. For the region, see our Pacific Northwest tide guide.
