Cordova Tide Chart

The pattern
Two unequal highs and two unequal lows daily with a range around ten feet — big Prince William Sound water. The tide floods Orca Inlet and drains the Eyak River flats, and the currents run hard through the passes.
Copper River salmon
This is salmon country: the Copper River’s famous kings and sockeyes stage at the river mouths on the tide, and the commercial and sport fleet works the Sound for halibut. For timing the bite, see our best time to fish tides guide.
Boating
Prince William Sound is big, cold, exposed water — glaciers calve nearby and the weather changes fast. Orca Inlet shifts; stick to the marked route and mind the tide. For the region, see our Alaska tides guide.
