Seward Tide Chart
Seward — the Kenai Peninsula’s fjord-country port at the head of Resurrection Bay — works a big mixed semidiurnal tide, around ten feet, that sets the charter schedule and the salmon calendar.

The pattern
Two unequal highs and two unequal lows daily with a range around ten feet — serious Alaska water. The tide floods the bay’s head deep and drains the harbor’s ramps at the big minus lows.
Fjord-country fishing
The charter fleet runs Resurrection Bay and the outer coast for halibut, lingcod, and rockfish, with silvers and kings in season. The bay’s beaches give up clams on the low tides.
Boating
The Gulf of Alaska builds fast off the Kenai Mountains — check marine forecasts with the tide, and mind the williwaws pouring off the glaciers. For the state, see our Alaska tide guide.
