Olympia Tide Chart

The pattern
Two unequal highs and two unequal lows daily with around fourteen feet of range — the south Sound amplifies the tide as it funnels into Budd Inlet. Low water exposes broad mudflats; high water floats the docks at Percival Landing with room to spare.
Capital and oysters
The Capitol dome watches over the waterfront, and the Deschutes estuary restoration is reshaping the shoreline. South Sound oysters and Manila clams are tide-timed harvests — the minus tides are digging tides. Anglers work the inlet for cutthroat; see our best time to fish tides guide.
Boating
Budd Inlet is shallow at its head — the dredged channel is the only deep water, and the mudflats reach far at low tide. Mind the shoals off the Deschutes mouth. For the region, see our Pacific Northwest tides guide.
