Mayagüez Tide Chart
Mayagüez — ‘La Sultana del Oeste’ on Puerto Rico’s west coast — keeps a gentle semidiurnal Caribbean tide of under two feet, the quiet clock behind its surf breaks and inshore fishery.

The pattern
Two highs and two lows daily with under two feet of range — classic Caribbean micro-tides. The swing is small, but it still decides when the reef passes are navigable and when the flats flood.
Surf and inshore
The west coast is Puerto Rico’s surf coast — Rincon is up the road and the Mayagüez breaks work on the tide. Tarpon roll in the harbor and the bays; the offshore drop gives up mahi and billfish.
Boating
The Mona Passage is serious open water — plan crossings on weather, not just tide. Inshore, mind the reefs and the small range that hides the coral heads at low water. For the region, see our Puerto Rico & Caribbean tides guide.
