Marco Island Tide Chart
Marco Island — the largest of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands, where the backcountry meets the Gulf — rides small Gulf tides of around three feet. Note the NOAA station sits at Caxambas Pass at the island’s south end, so backwater times run a little later.

The pattern
Mixed semidiurnal tides of around three feet — modest Gulf water. The tide floods the mangrove creeks and oyster bars of the Ten Thousand Islands, then drains them through the passes — Caxambas and Capri run hardest on the change.
Backwater fishing
The Ten Thousand Islands are snook, tarpon, and redfish country — the mangrove shorelines and creek mouths fish best on moving water. Tigertail Beach’s lagoon and the passes hold pompano and trout; see our best time to fish tides guide.
Boating
The backcountry is shallow and labyrinthine — run the marked channels, watch for oyster bars, and mind the no-wake zones. The passes to the Gulf can stand up in a sea breeze. For the region, see our Florida tides guide.
