Dutch Harbor Tide Chart
Dutch Harbor — the working port on Unalaska Island made famous by the Bering Sea crab fleet — rides a mixed semidiurnal tide of roughly four to five feet, the rhythm the whole crab season runs on.

The pattern
Two unequal highs and two unequal lows daily with a range around four to five feet — modest by Alaska standards, but the Aleutian weather makes every tide change count. Currents in the passes between islands can run hard.
Crab fleet country
This is Deadliest Catch territory: the king-crab and snow-crab fleet stages out of Dutch Harbor, and the season lives and dies by the tide and the wind together. Halibut and salmon run the inshore waters for sport boats.
Boating
The Bering Sea side is no place for casual boating — fog, williwaws, and strong pass currents are the norm. Inshore Unalaska Bay is calmer but still demands a seaworthy boat. For the region, see our Alaska tides guide.
