St. Croix Tide Chart

St. Croix — the largest U.S. Virgin Island — barely has tides at all, often under a foot — but Christiansted’s harbor, the east end’s flats, and the island’s walls still answer to the water’s small moves.

The pattern

A semidiurnal tide with a range that rarely reaches a foot — among the smallest in U.S. waters. What moves water here: trade-wind swell and the occasional tropical system, which overwhelm the astronomical tide entirely.

Flats and walls

The east end’s flats hold bonefish and tarpon for wading anglers — the small tide changes still nudge the bite. Offshore, the island’s famous wall dives and the Buck Island reef are the underwater draw; snorkelers work the calm west end.

Boating

Christiansted Harbor is the hub — mind the reef entrances and the cruise ship lanes. The north shore’s exposure means watching swell over tide. For the region, see our Puerto Rico & Caribbean tide guide.
