Lewes & Rehoboth Beach Tide Chart

Lewes — where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic, with Rehoboth’s beaches just south — runs a four-to-five-foot semidiurnal tide that times the flounder bite and the ferry schedule.

The pattern

Two highs and two lows daily with four to five feet of range. The bay side and the ocean beaches fish slightly different stages — and the Cape May–Lewes Ferry crossing the bay mouth rides the same tide.

Flounder and surf

The Lewes canal, the bay’s channels, and the reef sites are flounder territory fished on moving water; weakfish and stripers run the bay in season. Rehoboth’s surf gives up stripers and bluefish in the fall migration.

Boating

Roosevelt Inlet is the ocean gateway — mind the ebb against ocean swell. The bay’s shallows outside the channels go skinny at low water. For the region, see our Mid-Atlantic tide guide.
