Daytona Beach Tide Chart

Daytona’s wide hard-packed beaches answer to a four-to-five-foot semidiurnal tide — and just south, Ponce Inlet concentrates it all into one of Florida’s great fishing passes.

The pattern

Two highs and two lows daily with four to five feet of range on the oceanfront. The Halifax River and the Intracoastal behind the barrier island run a touch later — lagoon anglers should favor an inside station.

Ponce Inlet

Ponce Inlet is the star: snook, redfish, tarpon, and flounder stack in the pass on moving water, and the jetties are among Florida’s most productive shore spots. The inlet runs hard on the tide change — fish the moving water, and boaters should cross at slack or with the current.

Surf and beach

The famous beach fishes whiting, pompano, and bluefish in the troughs, best on the rising tide. Beachgoers get the widest hard-packed sand near low water. For the wider coast, see our Southeast Atlantic tide guide.
